Literally translating to ‘The River Kingfisher’, diners to Alcedo can expert a very relaxing environment amongst the lush surrounds of the gorge Gending Kedis overlooks and the nature that inhabits the environment. Recommended is the Ayam Pelalah – shredded chicken breast with chilies and balinese lime, the Babi Kecap – braised pork loin in sweet soy chili sauce and sauteed glass noodles and the Ikan Bakar Sambal Matah – grilled snapper fillet in marinated shallots and lemongrass dressing served with plecing kangkung. Whilst the Balinese menu at Alcedo is both exciting and rewarding, guest with a taste for continental cuisine will not be disappointed with the choice of international dishes such as the popular Lamb Chops – grilled with creamy polenta, tamarind fig glaze and vegetables of the day.
